Explosion in the munitions factory: 8 injured, 5 people trapped under the rubble!

An explosion occurred at one of the workplaces of the Avangard plant for the production of weapons and ammunition in the city of Sterlitamak in the Russian Republic of Bashkirin which it suffered eight people were injured, while five people were crushed in the rubble. TASR informs according to the report of the TASS agency.

The supreme representative of Bashkortostan, Radij Khabirov, said that three people were pulled out of the wreckage and taken to the hospital. Eight injured are under the care of doctors, and one patient is in a serious condition from the rescued persons. the other suffered moderate injuries and the other escaped with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the competent authorities. The workers were evacuated and all emergency services intervened on the spot. The hospital in Sterlitamak operates in a special mode.

According to some media an explosion occurred in the nitrogen unit while trying to restart it.

The enterprise in Sterlitamak is owned by the state industrial conglomerate Rostec. In addition to chemical products, it produces explosives and disposes of ammunition. At the beginning of 2024, the European Union imposed sanctions on it.
