The Sena Madureira fish market, located close to Feira Nova, was supplied this Wednesday morning (22) with a shipment of white fish brought from Humaitá (Amazonas). 500 kilos of the species were imported and are now available to consumers.
According to fisherman Gean, the price of white fish varies. “If the consumer wants to take the treated white, at the point of putting it on the fire, he will pay 25 reais per kilo. Untreated, it costs 22 reais”, he emphasized.
Throughout this year, professionals working in the local market have imported fish from the Amazon several times, mainly from Lábrea, Boca do Acre and Humaitá. In previous months, the species were scarce in the region, so the only alternative found was to bring the product from other cities.
Today, in addition to the white ones, there are also other species available to consumers.
