Despite having existed for decades, artificial intelligence (AI) only began to be widely used by the public in recent years and continues to become popular in several areas. Like OpenAI, Anthropic is one of the main companies in the sector; both offer chatbots based on large language models (LLM).
Founded in 2021, Anthropic is the startup responsible for the Claude chatbotan artificial intelligence that offers similar functionalities to the popular , from OpenAI.
Currently, the company has already established itself as one of the main references in generative AI and aims to further expand the capabilities of this technology.
What is Anthropic?
Raised in the United States, Anthropic was founded by . Despite being a recent company, it already has the support of big names in the technology sector, such as Google and Amazon, which have invested billions in the company.
According to its founders, the company’s focus is to develop capabilities in artificial intelligence with an emphasis on security. In interviews, co-founder Dario Amodei reinforces that Anthropic adopts a cautious and security-oriented stance when developing models, with a focus on responsible implementation.
In just a few years, Anthropic has become one of the most popular AI development companies on the market, with Claude among the top chatbots available.

Unlike other companies that launch artificial intelligence capabilities with a certain “urgency”, the company founded by former OpenAI employees prefers to prioritize security before making them available to the public.
What is Claude IA?
Claude is one, as are Copilot, Perplexity, ChatGPT and Gemini. It allows users to create different types of content, such as translations, codes, stories, image analysis, conversations and more.
Like other conversational models based on large language models, it still has several limitations, but stands out for adopting a more rigorous approach to the information it produces.
For example, Claude responds to users based on a set of reinforced ethical principles, which aim to reduce incorrect responses and avoid ethical problems.

The latest version is Claude Sonnet 4.5but several other versions have been released in the past. Likewise, new versions will continue to be developed to improve AI abilities.
“Claude’s enhanced capabilities and our extensive security training have allowed us to substantially improve the model’s behavior, reducing concerning behaviors such as sycophancy, deceit, power-seeking, and the tendency to encourage delusional thinking,” Anthropic describes of the latest update.
Claude Sonnet 4.5
Launched on September 29, 2025, the new Sonnet promises to be better at , programming, with better reasoning and long tasks.
According to the company, Claude Sonnet 4.5 handles long tasks better, understands instructions more accurately and is better at common activities such as summarizing documents, creating texts and reviewing codes.

Released on August 5, 2025, Opus 4.1 is the flagship update aimed at advanced reasoning and more complex tasks. Thus, in situations that require deep reasoning and multi-step planning, such as preparing complex reports, checking details very rigorously or developing more complete technical solutions.

Any user in supported regions, including Brazil, can create a free account and use Claude through the browser, through cell phone applications (iOS/Android) and desktop software. Just access the website, log in and start chatting.
To start using Claude AI, follow the steps below:
- After accessing , click on “Try Claude” and enter your email;
- You will receive an email with a verification link via email;
- Access your email, click on the link and accept Anthropic’s terms;
- Now, choose the country “Brazil” and enter your cell phone number with area code;
- When you receive the verification code, enter it on Claude’s page;
- Lastly, click on “Use Claude for free” to choose the free version.
After that, you must inform how you want Claude AI to call you, select up to three tags with your main interests and you can also explore a tab with suggestions of what you can do with the chatbot.
Is Claude AI free?
On the free plan, you can use chat with web searches and a basic version of the Sonnet 4.5 template.
Until October 2025, the Pro version costs R$92 per month, while the Max is available from R$550 per month; paid plan subscribers gain access to more templates and other advanced features.
