The increase in salaries, the valorization of careers, the restoration of public employment and the defense of public services are some of the reasons for calling the strike that covers all State workers.

Leaders of the Common Front of Public Administration Unions and the National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof) welcomed the large turnout for the strike, which is taking place this Friday in the public administration.

“The Government of Minister Luís Montenegro does nothing to be different and what we are witnessing is a destruction of the National Health Service”, said Joana Bordalo e Sá, from the National Federation of Doctors.

“What the Government has to present to them is a proposal for impoverishment. The Common Front does not negotiate how much workers will become impoverished, therefore, there is no question of signing that agreement”, criticizes Sebastião Santana.

Next to the school and on terraces, dozens of students were socializing this morning, after finding the school closed.

Participation is expected from teachers, educators and school assistants, doctors, nurses and health service assistants, public transport workers, inspectors and tax officials, judicial employees, among others.

The increase in salaries, the enhancement of careers, the restoration of public employment and the defense of public services are also reasons for calling for a strike that covers all State workers.

The Common Front represents 29 unions from all sectors of public administration.
