In a gesture of unity and empathy, the Mulheres do Pedal group from Vila do Incra carried out a special action in reference to Pink October, a campaign dedicated to the prevention and awareness of breast cancer. The event brought together moments of dialogue, dancing, running and cycling, marked by a lot of energy, solidarity and mutual support between the participants.

More than encouraging self-care and early diagnosis, the mobilization had an even more significant purpose: helping my friend Roziani Amaral, a member of the cycling group, who is currently facing breast cancer. To this end, the participants organized a solidarity raffle, and all the money raised went to her and her family, as a form of support at this delicate time.
The action was designed by professor Celene Melo, who mobilized a team of women committed to the cause, with the support of Porto Acre City Hall and the city’s first lady, Adrineia Lopes, who also actively participated in the event. Professor Ellen Cavalcante was among the collaborators of the initiative.
