Time and where to watch João Fonseca’s debut at the Paris Masters 1000

After this Sunday (26), João Fonseca already has his next appointment scheduled.

The Brazilian tennis player will take the court this Tuesday (28), no earlier than 8:30 am (Brasília time), to face Denis Shapovalov (24th in the ranking) in his debut at the Paris Masters 1000. The match will be broadcast on ESPN and Disney Plus.

Fonseca and Shapovalov. The tennis players faced each other last Friday (24) in the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 in Basel. João secured qualification after the Canadian abandoned the match in the decisive set.

If he wins, Fonseca will face Russian Karen Khachanov (14th) or Ethan Quinn (71st) in the next phase.

Title and rise in ranking

The Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) published, this Monday (27), a new update of the ranking of the best in the world. Brazilian João Fonseca – career best – with 1,615 points.

The new ranking represents a leap forward for the 19-year-old, who was 46th before winning the ATP 500 in Basel.

This was the second ATP-level trophy won by Fonseca. The first was the ATP 250 in Buenos Aires.
