A HBO Max released this Wednesday, 29, a new trailer for the documentary series Meu Ayrton by . In two episodes, the attraction promises to bring never-before-seen details of the relationship between the presenter and the racing driver, told from her point of view. The attraction features episodic direction by João Weiner, and interviews include former F1 driver Jacir Bergmann II, one of Ayrton’s best friends, Luiza Almeida Braga, advisor Betise Assumpção and journalist Roberto Cabrini. “With Ayrton alive, I lived that experience like a big fairy tale”, she recalls in the trailer. “It was a magical year and a half.”
The two dated from 1993 until the pilot’s death in May 1994. Galisteu and Senna had one of the most talked about romances of the 1990s in Brazil, and many pointed out that this part of the pilot’s story was diminished in the Netflix series Senna, starring Gabriel Leone and directed by Vicente Amorim. According to HBO Max, the purpose of the documentary is to allow Galisteu to present his version of the events autonomously and under his own narrative, in a format that mixes interviews, reconstructions and visits to important places in the relationship between the two. The premiere is scheduled for November 6th.
