According to the SSP-BA (Public Security Secretariat of Bahia), Júlio Souza Silva was appointed as a member of the CV and worked in Amaralina, a neighborhood in the capital of Bahia.
He had already been arrested for drug trafficking. Or by the Rio de Janeiro police.

In a statement, the SSP-BA reinforced the importance of integration between states to dismantle factions and declared solidarity with the families and colleagues of the dead police officers.
