The new minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency will hold a meeting this Wednesday (29) with representatives of social and black movements to discuss the attack, which has left around 100 people dead since Tuesday (28).
The idea is to hear reports of violence, discuss measures to prevent further episodes of this type and identify possible police abuses.
The meeting, in Boulos’ office at Palácio do Planalto, will have a hybrid format, with part attending in person and part virtually.
From Rio de Janeiro, three community leaders from Complexo do Alemão will participate, Renê Silva, Raul Santiago and Camila Moradia. There will also be the presence of the national secretary of Peripheries of the Ministry of Cities, Guilherme Simões.
The meeting will take place shortly before Boulos’ inauguration ceremony, scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon at Planalto, with the presence of the president, ministers, parliamentarians and movement representatives. The attacks in Rio are expected to dominate part of the event.
