at least four came from military forces from other Latin American countries, in addition to two from the Brazilian Arada Forces. The mega police operation, carried out on Tuesday (10/28), is considered to have resulted in 121 deaths (four police officers), 113 prisoners and more than a ton of drugs seized.
The military power of the Red Command contained two weapons from the Brazilian Army, two others from Venezuela, one from Peru and one from Argentina.
The information was released this Wednesday (29/10), by delegate Vinícius Domingos, from the Weapons and Explosives Inspection Coordination of the Civil Police of RJ (CFAE). According to an estimate by the corporation, of the 118 weapons seized, 91 are rifles, .
“CFAE is already analyzing the rifles seized in the operation. Some rifles are still in some specialized police stations and will come to CEFAE”, said the delegate.
“What draws attention are these rifles. Most of them FAL [Fuzil Automático Leve]. Two of them have already been identified as being from the Brazilian Armed Forces, two from the Venezuelan Armed Forces, one from Argentina and one from G3 Peru”, he highlighted.
The delegate also pointed out that these rifles arrive at Comando Vermelho across the border with Paraguay and the Amazon region.
The delegate also described that the other rifles seized are internationally manufactured, however, 90% are counterfeit. , seized in the Penha and Alemão Complexes, contained weapons ready for use and equipped with precision accessories, such as telescopes and holographic sights, capable of increasing the range and lethality of shots.
“So this proves that almost none of these weapons here come from Cati [Centro Avançado em Técnicas de Imobilização] in Brazil. They come from the border with the Amazon, mainly weapons that come from other armed forces and also enter our state by land route, most of them from Paraguay”, he said.
War operation against the CV
The action that mobilized 2,500 agents consisted of dismantling the structure of Comando Vermelho (CV), the main drug trafficking faction in the state. The police operation was supported by helicopters, armored vehicles and drones.
Despite the siege mounted by the corporation during the mega-operation, some of the criminals managed to escape via alternative routes. Agents found camouflaged tunnels and passages between houses and walls, used for coordinated escape, reminiscent of the maneuver seen 15 years ago, during the historic invasion of Alemão, in 2010.
. The agents are: Marcus Vinícius Cardoso de Carvalho, commissioner of the 53rd DP; Rodrigo Velloso Cabral, from the 39th DP; and Cleiton Serafim Gonçalves and Heber Carvalho da Fonseca, both from the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE).
