US government official: National Guard plans rapid reaction force for unrest


Washington – The US National Guard wants to train hundreds of soldiers in every US state by the beginning of next year to form a rapid reaction force for operations in the event of civil unrest, according to two US government officials. The two government officials, who did not want to be named, said on Wednesday that the rapid reaction force should consist of 500 soldiers in most states.
