Eggs can be cooked in many ways – soft, hard or semi-soft. If you don’t want the shell to crack during this process, you should remember a few rules. In addition, we must also bear in mind that an egg breaking, especially one in a pot with five others, is not necessarily just a coincidence.
Most often, eggs crack due to the temperature difference. Above all they should not be thrown into boiling water, then the shell will definitely crack. It is better to place the eggs in cold water and boil. Apart from that a cracked shell may indicate that the egg is not fresh enough. Then it is worth checking the piece carefully, paying attention to the smell and color. If all the eggs crack, there is usually another reason.
You can easily check the freshness of eggs before cooking – fresh ones will sink to the bottom, stale ones will float on the surface. Apart from that eggs from hens with a poorer diet may have a thinner shell, which will cause it to crack. To prevent this, it is worth adding one product to the pot.

First, prepare a large enough pot – the pressed eggs will hit each other and this will quickly lead to cracking of the shell. Moreover, it is better to place them in cold water and only then boil them. If you want to add them to boiling water, first take the eggs out of the fridge for about 30 minutes. This will reduce the temperature difference. Additionally, it is worth adding a tablespoon of vinegar. It will acidify the water and strengthen the shell; in the case of more delicate eggs, this method is very effective.
Instead of vinegar, you can also use lemon juice or pickled cucumber juice. They work on a similar principle and enable acidification of water. It is also better to add a teaspoon of salt to the pot, it will make peeling the eggs easier.
