Three days after Operation Containment, Rio de Janeiro try to organize the next steps in combating organized crime and investigating deaths resulting from the action.

The Civil Police continues to investigate the circumstances of the deaths and the progress of the operation. The Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Rio identified All of them as having undergone an autopsy, but the reports must be released within 10 to 15 business days.

Sixty bodies were released for burial by this Thursday (30), according to federal and state deputies who were investigating the IML.

In addition to the official investigation, the state government discusses long-term measures deadline to expand security actions and coordination with other states.

According to Lewandowski, the office will “facilitate dialogue between the Union and the state government”, undo bureaucratic constraints, in addition to joining the efforts of federal and state forces so that the crisis in Rio de Janeiro can be quickly overcome.

The joint mega-operation of the Civil and Military police was carried out on Tuesday (28) in the Alemão and Penha complexes, in the North Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. With 121 dead, it became the deadliest police operation of the state’s history.

The action aimed to combat the territorial expansion of Comando Vermelho and serve 100 arrest warrants against leaders and members of the faction.
