Arsenal beat Burnely 2-0 this Saturday (1st), in the 10th round of the Premier League

Even playing away from home, at the Turf Moor stadium, they were not aware of Burnley and won 2-0, with goals from Gyökeres and Rice, both with heads, in the first half, this Saturday (1st), in the 10th round of the season.

With the result, the London team reached 25 points at the top of the table, opening seven points ahead of second-placed Bournemouth, who this Sunday (2), at 1:30 pm, will have a complicated duel visiting . Third in the table, Tottenham, with 17, will also face Chelsea, this Saturday.

Buoyed by their good form – there are five consecutive victories in the national championship and nine considering the League Cup and the Champions League –, Mikel Arteta’s team went after the hosts from the first minute and could have gone to the dressing room with a more elastic advantage than the partial 2-0 after the opening 45 minutes.

Goalkeeper Dúbravka prevented two goals from Saka, with shots from in front of the goal, while Trossard saw his shot cleared by the defense on the line. The visitors only managed to pierce Burnley’s defense from above, with Gyökeres, completing the set piece from a corner, in the 13th minute, and Rice, also heading in a cross from Trossard, on a counterattack, in the 34th minute.

With a good lead on the scoreboard and little trouble in defense, Arsenal slowed down in the second half and Burnley took advantage to advance. While the hosts tried to reduce the deficit, without much quality, the leader managed another good victory, without any scares, until the final whistle.

Casemiro scores, but United draws with Forest and moves away from the lead

While Arsenal fans celebrated another triumph, Manchester United fans breathed a sigh of relief, albeit disappointed, with a 2-2 draw against one of the worst teams in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest, at the City Ground.

The result interrupted a series of three victories for Rúben Amorim’s team in the competition and prevented the team from taking second place. United now have 17 points in the table, temporarily in fifth place, while Nottingham Forest are on six, still in the relegation zone.

Despite the different moments of the two teams in the Premier League, the match started open, with both sides looking for a goal, mainly with Igor Jesus and Ndoye for Forest and Sesko and Diallo for United. Casemiro, in the 33rd minute of the first half, opened the scoring for the visitors, heading in, taking advantage of a corner kick.

A blackout at the beginning of the final stage was enough to end Manchester United’s good run. In less than four minutes, Nottingham Forest turned the score around with Gibbs-White, after a cross from Yates, and Savona, with Igor Jesus participating in the play.

The visitors put pressure on the attacking field and spent the entire second half looking for another comeback. The dominance had an effect in the 35th minute, when Diallo equalized, but the final attacks from Casemiro, Sesko and Matheus Cunha stopped due to Sels’ lack of aim or defense, keeping the score at 2-2.
