“This is my last good night for Jornal Nacional. See you. Thank you very much”, it was with this sentence that he said goodbye to the and marked the end of an era. On Friday (31), the now former presenter and director of journalism at Rede Globo, gave his last ‘Good Night’ to the Brazilian public in charge of the newspaper. From now on, the person at the helm, alongside Renata Vasconcellos, will be César Tralli. “The day has come. Two months after the announcement, I am completing this cycle”, said Bonner, before recalling the reasons for the decision.

In September, when he announced his departure, he said that his children motivated his choice and that “the account was not closing”. William and Renata then stood up from the bench to welcome Tralli with a round of applause. “It’s always a great pleasure to hug you”, greeted Bonner. Tralli then sat down with his colleagues on the bench for a brief conversation. “My expectation is to be able to continue doing my best and giving myself body and soul”, concluded Tralli. “Never again in this country will you go unnoticed”, joked Bonner.

Bonner also said he “wouldn’t cry.” “As we all know, I don’t cry”, he joked, good-naturedly, before inviting the public to meet him again at Globo Repórter, in February. “I’m going to start a new career, even with the right to be a phenomenal failure. I hope not, I’m going to do my best, but we never know. It’s the adventure of starting something new”, he said, laughing.

Tralli, in turn, was impressed by the crowded newsroom, but said he was calm and composed about taking on the new role. “We spent such a pleasant few days together today. I am in a state of fulfillment and very happy to be here with you at such a historic moment.” He was then honored with a report recalling his career at Globo.

The musical chairs of Globo’s news anchors began on Thursday (30), when Tralli presented, for the last time, Jornal Hoje, an attraction that will now be led by Roberto Kovalick, who in turn will be replaced by Tiago Scheuer on Hora 1.
