The singer Your Jorge55, called Chris Martin48, lead singer of Coldplayto take the stage at the Global Citizen Festival, on Saturday night (1st), in Belém, Pará. The Brit sang one of the Brazilian artist’s biggest hits: “Amiga da Minha Mulher”.
“I’m going to take the opportunity to invite a friend to take a sound with me, a dear friend of mine for a while”, announced Seu Jorge to the audience. “I want you guys to cuddle Chris Martin!”
He played the guitar and sang some words in Portuguese from the chorus of Seu Jorge’s song. Martin had already performed at the festival minutes before, singing the band’s hits such as “Paradise”, “A Sky Full of Stars”, “Yellow” and “Viva La Vida”, .
Throughout its history, the Global Citizen Festival has hosted world-renowned artists such as Billie Eilish, Lauryn Hill, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Stevie Wonder. Now, with the Amazon as a backdrop, the event also marks the end of the “Protect the Amazon” campaign, launched a year ago.
According to the organization, the campaign has already secured more than US$345 million in financial commitments aimed at environmental preservation. Tickets for the show are free and available exclusively to residents of Belém and the State of Pará. To participate, the public must perform actions on the festival’s app or website.
