This Saturday (1st), an attack with a bladed weapon on board a train heading to Huntingdon, in the Cambridge region, in the east of , resulted in several injuries. British Transport Police confirmed that two people were detained and several others were taken to hospital. The action occurred while the train was still on its way to Huntingdon station, where it was stopped to treat the victims.
London North Eastern Railway (LNER), the company responsible for the railway line, announced the closure of all its routes while emergency teams worked on site. The company warned of “significant disruptions” to services and asked passengers to avoid traveling. Police did not release further details about the nature of the attack or the suspects’ motivation. Investigations are ongoing to clarify what happened.
