She went through hell and wanted to give up the chance of having a child: The singer from Atomic Kitten announced the happy news!

British singer Liz McClarnon, known from the girl group Atomic Kitten, announced the happy news – she is expecting her first child at the age of 44. It comes after an extremely difficult period when she survived two miscarriages last year, magazine reports. McClarnon made the announcement on Instagram on May 13, but opened up about her emotional journey to motherhood in a new interview with The Mirror.

As she revealed, she and her husband Peter Cho, whom she met in 2021 and married in 2023, underwent artificial insemination at the beginning of their relationship. In 2022, they underwent three unsuccessful embryo transfers and in 2024 they lost two babies. “After the last one, I said I was quitting, and Peter fully supported me. He just said, ‘It’s your body and I’ll stand by whatever you decide,’ which meant a lot to me. It was emotionally very difficult,” said the singer.

The turning point came during the Christmas holidays, when time spent with her family helped her “heal the wounds”. McClarnon admitted that the whole experience completely changed her perspective on motherhood. “The whole process made me realize that having a baby is a miracle. There are so many things that have to go right for a woman to even get pregnant and for a healthy baby to be born.” she stated.

In her Instagram video, she admitted that she was holding back. “Sometimes it was hard to smile… After years of painful IVF and dark times… I’m pregnant,” she wrote. At the end of the video, she also showed her pregnant belly. Her announcement was flooded with thousands of congratulations. “Couldn’t be happier! After all she’s been through, this little miracle,” shared Atomic Kitten co-star Natasha Hamilton.

“The best news. You’ve been through hell but you’ve never lost faith,” added Jenny Frost. The singer now hopes that her story will give hope to other women who are going through a similar experience. “I am a part of beautiful and supportive communities. I am extremely grateful for that,” she concluded.
