Even months after the first serious allegations of abuse became known, SOS Children’s Villages Austria has not calmed down. The crisis, which began in September with revelations about a secret study into abuse cases, has long since developed into a conflagration. On Monday, further allegations emerged about violence at the Nussdorf-Debant site in East Tyrol in the 1990s. Accordingly, the carers there are said to have regularly beaten children and deprived them of food.
