The iconic “Pipi” lemonade has been refreshing locals and Adriatic holidaymakers in Croatia for over 50 years. The name sounds strange for a lemonade and is no coincidence, but inspired by Astrid Lindgren’s famous children’s book character Pippi Longstocking. It is precisely this “homage” that could now turn out to be a legal own goal – because the brand owners, the descendants of Astrid Lindgren, have taken legal action against the beverage manufacturer.
