Hotels keep this tin foil trick a secret so they always have perfect sheets

Do you have a dryer at home? Then throw one little thing in it while drying the laundry…

Washing and drying clothes is a nuisance. Especially if you do a lot of laundry and need to have the necessary batch of clean bedding, sheets and towels every day. That is why most guesthouses and hotels have available not only a powerful washing machine, but also a dryer, which can dry clothes within an hour. Of course, even the dryer is not a cure-all and has its quirks. What kind?

Dust and lint magnet

“During drying, the clothes rub against each other and static electricity is generated, which then wrinkles the bedclothes and attracts more dust, lint, hair, hair and other dirt to them,” says an employee of the unnamed hotel and recommends putting one of the available antistatic aids in the dryer together with the laundry, such as special napkins or wool balls.

Watch out for the edges!

The good news is that you can make such “anti-static energy jammers” yourself and for cheap. “One of them is, for example, tinfoil balls. You can make them easily by crumpling several layers of ordinary aluminum foil to the size of a tennis ball,” advises the expert, adding in one breath that all these balls should be smooth (without sharp edges) so that clothes do not stick to them unnecessarily. You need 3-4 pieces for one batch, which you can use repeatedly.

Saving electricity

“The foil balls help to separate the pieces of laundry in the drum and thus improve the passage of warm air between the individual clothes. Thanks to this, the entire drying process is accelerated,” explains the expert and adds that the use of tinfoil balls significantly reduces energy consumption. The laundry is cleaner and smoother after such drying, so you don’t need to iron approximately 50-70% of the entire batch and just fold it neatly in the closet.

Variant for allergy sufferers

Unlike fabric softeners, which perform the same function, foil balls do not contain any chemicals or perfumes. This makes them an ideal choice for allergy sufferers or for families with small children. Foil balls have one more plus – they are ecological. Their lifespan is around two months until they completely disintegrate. Then it is enough to “model” others and continue to use them happily. In any case, it is an improver that will save you work, laundry quality, energy and money. So be sure to use it.
