In a parallel decision in which Oi was declared bankrupt, judge Simone Gastesi, from the 7th Business Court, accepted the judicial recovery process of Serviços de Rede (Serede) and Brasil Telecom Call Center (Tahto).
The two companies are part of the Oi Group and are responsible for the field operation of technicians and customer service, respectively.
Serede has around five thousand employees and is in arrears with salaries. The crisis at Serede began after clients such as V.Tal, owner of Nio (formerly Oi Fibra) ended their contract with the company.

Now, there is speculation that TIM may hire the company. Meanwhile, employees then went on strike, further worsening the situation.
According to the Court, the two companies will have 60 days to present the recovery plan.
In the application presented for the continuity of their activities, the two companies report that, despite the Oi Group’s financial crisis, they are operationally viable companies and that they do not depend solely on the activities of their controlling company to remain healthy.
It was determined that, throughout the judicial recovery process, companies must present their monthly administrative accounts by the fifth business day of the following month, with a copy to the judicial administrator, under penalty of dismissal of their administrators.
The companies reported that their cash flow will not allow them to cover their debts, which already total more than R$800 million.
Most of it is labor debt. The judge considered that the controlling company (Grupo Oi) has a legal personality distinct from its subsidiaries and its activity is different from the activity carried out by the subsidiaries.

According to the judge, the declaration of bankruptcy of the Oi Group will not impact the process of the subsidiaries. The judge notes that companies have financial autonomy.
