Left-wing political parties released a letter this Friday (14) in which they criticize the president of the USA, for having boycotted and ask that his project
The document, prepared during the climate conference in , is signed by PT, PCdoB, PV, PDT, PSB and Rede.
“We regret that the US president, instead of cooperating, has insisted on imperialist gestures and threats to Latin American sovereignty at a time when the world should be united for life. Facing this military-imperialist project means defending science, the truth and affirming that we will not accept setbacks that cost lives, territories and democracy in our region”, say the base captions of the Lula government.
The parties add that climate denialism “is not just ignorance, it is a political project of the extreme right in the world to protect interests that profit from the destruction of nature, to delay urgent decisions and to demobilize society.”
In the letter, the parties also reject what they call “green capitalism”, an attempt to “make up a system that continues to destroy the planet”.
“Capitalism adapts, changes its discourse, paints its practices green, but maintains the same engine: unlimited exploitation of resources, concentration of wealth and the invisibility of the people who truly protect nature.”
The parties also defend increasing taxation on the exploration of minerals, oil, gas and wood,
