Hamas declares willingness to disarm under conditions

Gaza/Jerusalem – The Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas has declared its willingness to disarm “under conditions”. The prerequisite is an end to the Israeli occupation, the group said on Saturday, according to the AFP news agency. Disarming Hamas is one of the key demands of the US peace plan for the region. However, the group has so far strictly refused to hand over its weapons.
