Krenglbach – One week after birth, the baby white rhinoceros died on Tuesday at Schmiding Zoo near Krenglbach (Wels-Land district) as a result of a congenital hole in the diaphragm. An emergency operation was initially successful, but towards the end the calf suffered cardiac arrest, according to information from the zoo on Friday. The rhinoceros, which was born on December 2nd, did not survive.
