American actor Peter Greene († 60)known among other things for the film Pulp Fiction: Tales from the Underworld, was found dead last week in his apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. According to information from American media, he had injuries on his body, the origin of which is not yet clear.
Police sources said Thursday, Dec. 18, that injuries were found on Green’s body, but it has not yet been determined what caused them. The official cause of death has not yet been released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Green was found lying face down in his apartment on December 12 with injuries to his face. One of his neighbors described the scene to the New York Daily News at the time, saying, “There was blood everywhere.” The same neighbor also reported that a mysterious note was found at the site. It read, “I’m still a Westie,” a reference to the Irish-American gang from 1970s Hell’s Kitchen, New York.
Although Greene has previously been open about his drug addiction problems and an earlier suicide attempt, his former manager Gregg Edwards told the New York Post that the actor had not shown any suicidal tendencies in the period before his death. “Not at all,” Edwards said, adding that Greene was “in good spirits on Wednesday, two days before he was found.”
According to other information, the actor was even looking forward to the upcoming year-end celebrations. New York actor and musician Skam Dust said Greene planned to spend New Year’s Eve with him and friends Danny Diablo, also known as Lord Ezec, and a graffiti artist who goes by the name MQ. “He wanted to rent a limousine truck and Peter’s idea was that we would go around bars and restaurants. He was not suicidal,” he said.
