Jakob Schubert no longer has to prove anything. The Tyrolean was the only male climber to win a medal in both of his sport’s Olympic appearances, became world champion six times and climbed a route with the highest level of grade 9c to date with BIG in Flatanger (Norway). He’s also at the top of his game when it comes to rock bouldering, with Alphane and Mount Doom he has two 9A’s in his pocket. Schubert turns 35 on New Year’s Eve – and has made an important decision.
