Acreana experiences historic emotion by realizing her dream in the 100th edition of the São Silvestre International Race

Participation in the 100th edition of the São Silvestre International Race was unforgettable for Nair Tatiana Gonçalves from Acre, who was among the thousands of runners who took to the streets of São Paulo this Wednesday (31). For her, more than completing the 15 kilometers of the route, crossing the finish line represented the realization of a dream cultivated over many years.

“It was an extremely emotional moment for me. Something that I had been hoping for for many years and, when it finally happened, it was impossible to contain the emotion”, reported Nair, still emotional when talking about the experience lived in the capital of São Paulo.

São Silvestre 2025 made history not only for marking 100 years of the competition, but also for the record number of entries, with 55 thousand athletes from different countries, and the significant growth in female participation. Inserted in this historical scenario, Acre’s presence gains even more meaning, representing Acre’s sport in one of the biggest street races in the world.

According to Nair, the race went beyond the physical challenge.

It wasn’t just a sporting experience, it was a dream come true, built with effort, persistence and a lot of love for what I do.”, he highlighted.

She highlights that each training session, each difficulty overcome and each renunciation along the way made sense when she was on Avenida Paulista, the starting and finishing point of the race.

The traditional São Silvestre route, known for challenging stretches such as the climb up Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio, required endurance and preparation from the athletes. Even so, Nair describes the experience as something remarkable and transformative.

“São Silvestre gave me something that will be remembered in my history: the feeling that the entire journey was worth it”, he stated.

The Acre native also highlighted the energy of the public and the unique atmosphere of the event, which ends the Brazilian sporting calendar every year. For her, running among thousands of people, amateur and professional athletes, reinforced the feeling of belonging and achievement.

“It was an incredible experience, one that we carry in our hearts for the rest of our lives”, he added.
