will release a new album on March 20th before starting a world tour, the world-renowned K-pop group announced this Thursday (1st). “I’m looking forward to this with more expectations than anyone else,” wrote group leader RM in a handwritten letter to members of the official fan club. His record label, Big Hit Music, confirmed the information. The album will be the band’s first since the anthology ‘Proof’, the best-selling album in South Korea in 2022. The group had been on break since that year, while its members performed military service, mandatory for all men under 30.
The seven members of BTS completed their service last year and the group announced their return in 2026. Before their military service, BTS generated more than 5.5 trillion won (approximately R$21 billion) per year in South Korea, according to a national government body. This figure is equivalent to approximately 0.2% of the country’s total GDP.
BTS also holds the record for the group with the most plays on Spotify and became the first K-pop group to simultaneously top the Billboard 200 and Billboard Artist 100 charts in the United States.
