The Municipality of Tavira informs that, between January 12th and 31st, applications are open for the second edition of the “Ideias à Maré” program, an initiative that results from the Participatory Budget 2022/23, in which the winning proposal was the “Ideas Academy”.
According to the municipality, this phase represents a new opportunity for young people from Tavira, aged between 18 and 35, residents or natives of Tavira, to demonstrate their creativity, talent and entrepreneurial spirit, presenting innovative projects with potential economic impact.
Support for young entrepreneurship and innovation
The Municipality emphasizes that the program is aimed at everyone who wishes to learn, explore new areas of economic growth, innovate and contribute to a sustainable future, acting as a tool to support young entrepreneurship.
In this context, the municipality intends to invest in young people’s ideas, providing them with the necessary instruments to develop projects with an impact on the local economy. Applications must be formalized using the form available at
10 applications will be selected to join the program, with the remainder being admitted on a reserve scholarship. Each promoter may submit only one application and, in the case of teams (up to four members), a representative must be designated who will act as a contact point and spokesperson.
Participation scholarships and monetary prizes
Promoters may attach additional materials, such as videos, photographs, portfolios, prototypes or other documents that help illustrate the business idea. It is up to each participant to define and safeguard the intellectual property of the idea presented.
All participants will receive a professional training certificate, and a Young Entrepreneur of the Year certificate will also be awarded to the three best ideas. During the duration of the program, a participation scholarship worth 25 euros per day will be awarded.
The final monetary prizes are as follows: 1st place, 6,000 euros; 2nd place, 4,000 euros and 3rd place: 2,500 euros.
