The agency has activated orange warnings – which indicate significant danger – due to rough seas in A Coruña throughout the day and in Lugo and Pontevedra from 4:00 p.m.
A maritime storm will begin in the Mediterranean this weekend, according to Aemet, which will bring heavy rains and intense winds to the peninsular area and the Balearic Islands. It will begin on Saturday, although the most adverse days of the episode will be Monday and Tuesday of next week, and will last until Wednesday. “It is possible that damage will occur to promenades and it will be dangerous to approach the coastline,” details the spokesperson, Rubén del Campo. It also clarifies that branches or trees may fall and that “the rains may cause flooding of riverbeds and flooding in low areas.”
