Videos show the moment when Alice Maciel Lacerda Lisboa — a four-year-old non-verbal autistic child — was found alive, this Saturday (31), after being missing for three days. The girl had last been seen in the district of Bituri, in the Rural Zone of Jeceaba (MG).

A man identified as Guilherme — who helped rescue Alice — said he was with two friends when she was found. When trying to contact one of them, he ended up hearing a scream.

“I asked Vandinho to whistle, so Sandrin could see where we were, because he couldn’t find us. So he went and whistled. As soon as he whistled, we heard a scream. So I went and said: ‘That’s not Sandrin whistling back, that’s someone… it’s either an animal or someone screaming’.”

According to Guilherme, as they approached the area of ​​the forest where she was, he asked his friend to whistle again and as soon as they heard the scream in response, they started moving towards the sound.

“When we got there, she hid, got down in the bush, but then we managed to get there, we stayed close to her without scaring her. She kept screaming and at a certain point she got up. The moment she got up, we calmly approached her and then Sandrin put his arms around her.”

Soon after finding Alice, the volunteers went to a road nearby, where the firefighters, police and the child’s grandmother were, who took the girl from Guilherme’s arms as soon as she saw her.

According to information from the Fire Department, the searches were on the 3rd day and there were 12 teams.

Gerais reported that Alice was found conscious, with no visible signs of hypothermia or dehydration, and was taken to Hospital Queluz, in Conselheiro Lafaiete, under the supervision of the competent authorities.

According to the investigation of the ItatiaiaAlice was spending time at her grandmother’s house when she went on Thursday afternoon. The grandmother reported being on a phone call at the time of her disappearance and that she believed she had gone swimming.

Karine Maciel, Alice’s mother, stated that on the day of her disappearance, her daughter was wearing a bathing suit and that she has the habit of playing in the pool on her grandmother’s farm quite often.

The mother also said that, because she is non-verbal autistic, her daughter becomes “very stressed” in unfamiliar places and, especially, when she is without medication.
