It’s a bottomless digital hole: Anyone who opens the Tiktok app often finds themselves hours later in an endless loop of short videos. The EU Commission now classifies what fans value as entertainment as addictive design. In a preliminary assessment under the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Commission concludes that Tiktok systematically violates EU law. Getting users – especially young people – addicted is banned in Europe.
