The Civil Police arrested a man suspected of involvement in , in Cachoeirinha, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre (RS). He is a military police officer and ex-husband of Silvana Germann de Aguiar, aged 48, who has been missing since January 24th.
Her parents, Isail Vieira de Aguiar, 69, and Dalmira Germann de Aguiar, 70, have not been seen since January 25th.
The police work with the hypothesis that the couple was murdered and Silvana was murdered, but did not provide details about what motivated the crimes or information about the whereabouts of the victims.
In a statement, the General Inspectorate of the Military Brigade said that the military police officer will be removed from service.
Understand the case
On January 24, Silvana made a post on a social network stating that she had suffered a traffic accident while returning from a trip to Gramado, in Serra Gaúcha. The next day, the woman also thanked him for prayers. Since then, her cell phone has been switched off and there have been no new contacts.
On January 25, her parents were alerted by neighbors about the publications and began searching for their daughter. They went to a police station in the municipality, but as it was Sunday, the unit was closed. After that, they were not seen again either.
The family owns a market in Cachoeirinha. The place has been closed since then.
The Civil Police reported that the traffic accident reported by Silvana on the internet did not occur. Furthermore, her car was found in the garage at home. The vehicle key was inside the property.
On the night of her disappearance, images from a security camera showed movement considered suspicious at Silvana’s house. A red car arrives at the scene around 8:30 pm, and leaves eight minutes later. At 9:28 pm, the missing woman’s vehicle arrives and enters the garage.
At 11:30 pm, another car arrives, stays there for about 12 minutes and leaves.
The investigation has not yet confirmed whether it was Silvana who was driving her own car, nor has it identified the drivers of the other vehicles involved. Furthermore, the police do not rule out the possibility that these other two vehicles are, in fact, the same car.
Investigators found traces of blood inside a bathroom and in an area at the back of Silvana’s home. There were no signs of a physical struggle.
At her parents’ house, a projectile was found, identified as a blank. According to the police, the object must not be related to the case, but the results of forensic examinations should clarify it. Furthermore, the property was completely organized and clean, according to delegate Anderson Spier.

The Military Brigade informs that, on Tuesday morning (10/2), the Civil Police and the General Inspectorate of the Military Brigade carried out the temporary arrest of a military police officer, due to investigations into the disappearance of three people from the same family in Cachoeirinha.
The investigations are carried out by the Civil Police and the General Inspectorate is monitoring the case.
As a result of the arrest, the military police officer will be removed from police service, as provided for in current legislation, with the adoption of further internal measures remaining conditional on the conclusion of the investigations.
At this time, interviews will not be granted, as investigations are still ongoing.
