Feb 10 (Reuters) – The US military announced on Monday that it had launched an attack on a vessel in the eastern Pacific, killing two people and leaving one survivor.
President Donald Trump’s administration has touted its success in recent weeks in eliminating suspected drug trafficking vessels.
The Armed Forces stated in a publication on X that the vessel was “involved in drug trafficking operations”.

Ecuador’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Center is coordinating search and rescue operations, the U.S. Coast Guard said in a statement, adding that it is providing technical support.
