Around 13,000 people live on Capri. In summer, up to 50,000 day visitors come to the Italian Mediterranean island every day to see the colorful houses, rugged coastline and bays with azure waters. Capri now intends to restrict mass tourism from summer 2026. In the future, only visitor groups of a maximum of 40 people will be allowed to go ashore, as the island’s local council has just decided.
