Tottenham fires Thomas Frank after negative streak in the Premier League

Tottenham sack manager Thomas Frank after nine months in chargethe Premier League club reported on Wednesday (11), after a disastrous run of results that left the north London team just five points above the relegation zone.

The pressure on Frank was increasing, with 29 points in 26 games, moving on to look closely at the bottom of the table.

“Thomas was signed in June 2025, and we were determined to give him the time and support needed to build our future together,” the club said in a statement.

“However, the results and performances led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary”.

Frank, who arrived in 2018 and consolidated himself in the elite of English football after accession, found it difficult to repeat this model of success at Tottenham, last season’s champion.

The 52-year-old’s situation already looked unsustainable following the defeat to Newcastle, Tottenham’s 11th of the current Premier League campaign.

The fans made their dissatisfaction clear, with boos echoing through the stadium and chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” (“You’re going to be fired in the morning”) directed at Frank.

It was Tottenham’s seventh home defeat this season, and they have won just two of their 13 home games in the league.

On Tuesday, fans also chanted the name of former coach Mauricio Pochettino, who led the club to the Champions League final in 2019. The Argentine is currently the coach of the United States men’s national team.
