Heavy rain recorded in the last few hours caused flooding in several parts of Cruzeiro do Sul, in the interior of Acre, causing disruption to the population and compromising urban mobility in strategic areas of the municipality.
The volume of water caused Boulevard Thaumaturgo to overflow, reaching Avenida Coronel Mâncio Lima, one of the city’s main roads. Drivers and pedestrians faced difficulties in getting around, as sections of the avenue were practically impassable due to the accumulation of water.

Videos sent show streets and sidewalks covered in floodwaters, highlighting the force of the rain and how quickly the water level rose. The images also reveal vehicles advancing with difficulty through flooding.
In addition to the impacts on traffic, commercial establishments were affected. Businesses, pharmacies and stores located mainly in areas close to the center experienced water intrusion, generating material losses and concern among traders and residents.
