On Sunday, February 15 at 6:00 p.m., Jednotka continues with the new original show STVR História chúti, which combines knowledge with a taste experience. The session is accompanied by a pair of presenters Martina “Maca” Zábranská and Tibor Ferenčík. In the next part, they will find themselves in Revúca, a town whose history dates from the second half of the 19th century to the establishment of the first Slovak grammar school.
Mac’s and Tibor’s visit to this city and period revolves primarily around education. However, Revúca was not only a city of education, but also a place where the future of Slovakia was born. We will get to know the story of the first Slovak science fiction novel, in which Tibor proves that the journey to the moon can also be started on a bicycle. Together we will find out how and in what the nobility in Slovakia was educated, what the students of the first Slovak grammar school were like, which subjects with purely Slovak names they studied, how they exercised, what they were interested in, but especially what they ate.
A visit to Revúca cannot be complete without tasting Gemerské or Revúcka balls, but this time the chef also prepared cake made from corn mash, delicious smoked meat with cabbage, leavened poppy seed strudel or broth cooked for 18 hours. In short, history also tastes good in the next part of our cycle.
Maca and Tibor, as usual, go to the costume designer Ľubica Jarjabková, who will reveal to them how our ancestors dressed at that time. For women, layering mainly dominated, and the big novelty was underwear – especially panties. Maca tries on her own skin the corset, thanks to which the ladies were able to hide centimeters in the waist as if by a flick of a magic wand.
The presenter is particularly surprised by the fact that this historical piece of underwear was not very comfortable, but it was used for extreme shaping of the figure and he was able to narrow a woman’s waist easily by 10 centimeters! Maca discovers that women of the 19th century could easily deceive men.
