In the middle of the crowd, among costumes, glitter and lots of music, a different space has caught attention: a mini photography studio set up in the middle of the party area. The initiative is by photographer Assis Lima, who has been working in the area for 18 years and decided to take his lens to the heart of the festivities.
Used to recording sporting events, events and rehearsals, Assis says that the idea of setting up the studio came after a successful experience during the Christmas period.

“At Christmas, it went well. Now I’m doing it here at Carnival. Let’s see what’s expected today”, he comments, excitedly.
His career in photography began after a course with photographer Marcos Vicentti, who passed away in October 2024, who encouraged him to dive into the universe of images once and for all. “Since then, it’s been almost two decades”, he recalls.
Expectations are high. “A lot of people should come and I’m very confident”, he concludes.
