Von der Leyen: “Europe must take a step forward and assume its responsibility”

The president of the European Commission admitted this Saturday that it took shock therapy for the EU to assume its responsibility. Von der Leyen admits, however, that lines have been crossed and that democratic principles and citizens’ trust continue to be tested.
