Norway would have created ‘secret weapon’ that causes ‘Havana syndrome’, says newspaper

Norway informed the CIA about the incident, which led to at least two visits from officials from the Pentagon and the White House, reports the Washington Post

US authorities investigated an experiment in Norway in which a government scientist tested a microwave-emitting device and developed neurological symptoms similar to those of so-called Havana syndrome, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Norway informed the CIA about the incident, which led to at least two visits from officials from the Pentagon and the White House, according to the report. People familiar with the test said the results did not prove that U.S. diplomats and spies were targeted by a foreign adversary, although they did show that pulsed-energy devices can affect human biology.

Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
