Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), Lula’s main opponent in the presidential race, also criticized the PT member
The opposition to the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, criticized the Acadêmicos de Niterói parade honoring the PT member. The Novo Party announced that it will sue the Electoral Court to request the president’s ineligibility.
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), Lula’s main opponent in the presidential race, also criticized the PT member and said that he uses public money “to campaign in advance for himself”.
“Lula fleeces the people with tax increases and uses the same money raised to campaign in advance for himself. Yes, the money from the sweat of the Brazilian working people, which should be returned to society in the form of quality public services, is being roasted in a carnival parade in the faces of all Brazilians”, declared in X the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
Brazil is experiencing widespread moral depravity, unprecedented in its history.

Flávio said that “what is happening today at Rio’s carnival is a crime”. He complained about the fact that his father had been convicted in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) for a meeting with ambassadors.
However, he did not mention the reason for the conviction: the then president brought together representatives from other countries to launch unproven attacks on the electoral system.
“Jair Bolsonaro was made ineligible, by hand, by a meeting with ambassadors and by speaking on a sound car that didn’t cost a cent of public money. This will not go unpunished! Let’s rescue our Brazil from the dirty hands of the PT and give it back to the Brazilian people!”, declared the senator.
The Novo Party and its president confirmed that they will ask for Lula’s conviction in the Electoral Court. “The parade is a piece of propaganda for the Lula regime. Financed with your money. Let’s go to the Electoral Court to seek ineligibility”, stated Novo in his account on X.
If this is not early election propaganda, then there is no early election propaganda.
NOVO will seek Lula’s ineligibility for this shameful parade: abuse of political and economic power.

“What we reported to the TSE is being confirmed live. As soon as Lula registers his candidacy, the Novo Party will file an Electoral Judicial Investigation Action (AIJE), requesting the revocation of the registration and his ineligibility. The law must be the same for everyone”, declared the president of Novo, Eduardo Ribeiro, on social media.
The PL leader in the Senate, Carlos Portinho (RJ), also criticized the parade. He said that “when culture mixes with politics, culture is lost”. “It also applies to the parade of this samba school. In this case, even worse, running for a serious electoral offense. Advance propaganda with tax payer’s money. Relegation is the least it deserves”, he stated in
As I say: “when culture mixes with politics, culture is lost. Politics hijacks art.”
It’s also worth going to this samba school’s parade. In this case, even worse, running for a serious electoral offense. Advance advertising with tax payer’s money.…

Senator and former judge Sérgio Moro (União Brasil-PR) also commented on the parade. He made allusions to the Lava Jato operation to mock President Lula and said that the parade “was a depressing spectacle of abuse of power”. “The Odebrecht and Sítio de Atibaia car was missing from Lula’s parade. It was a depressing spectacle of abuse of power, with praise for Lula, without corruption scandals, and with attacks on opponents, all financed by the government. North Korea couldn’t do better”, he published in X.

Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) made a veiled comparison between the parade and the meeting with ambassadors which led to Bolsonaro’s ineligibility judgment at the TSE. “If this parade were in 2022, Bolsonaro would be arrested, search and seizure in the PL, seizure in the school shed, seizure of the floats and lifelong disqualification,” he said in his account on X.

Senator Cleitinho (Republicanos-MG) was another who alluded to former president Jair Bolsonaro. He said he suspected that the Federal Supreme Court would act to block a parade of this type in honor of the former president. “You are seeing these images. What day is this carnival? What they are doing here is an electoral campaign for Lula. You might say: ‘What is this implication?’. Imagine if it were the other way around, Bolsonaro as president, having financed a samba school with public money, making a float with the image of the arrested Lula. What do you think the STF would have done?”, he declared in a video posted on social media.
