Karen Bass, current mayor of Los Angeles, requested the resignation of Casey Wasserman, president of the organizing committee for the 2028 Olympic Games, because his name was present in Jeffrey Epstein’s files.
“It is regrettable that the Olympic Games executive committee supports Wasserman. In my opinion, he should resign,” Karen said in an interview with CNN last Monday, the 16th.
A series of exchanges of sexual messages between Casey and Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted of being part of a child sex trafficking network along with Epstein, were released.

Documents also report a trip by Wasserman on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet, an event that was also attended by Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, Maxwell and actor Kevin Spacey.
Given this scenario, Casey decided to sell the Wasserman Group, his company that manages the careers of international talents, such as singers Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams and Chappell Roan.
“I deeply regret that my past personal mistakes have caused you so much discomfort. It’s not fair to you, and it’s not fair to the customers and partners we so passionately represent and hold so dear,” Wasserman wrote in a statement to company employees.

Despite its presence in the files, there is no evidence that Casey Wasserman committed any criminal act. He regretted his conversations with Ghislaine Maxwell and said the messages, which date back to 2003, “took place more than two decades ago, long before his horrific crimes came to light.”
