At the Munich Security Conference, held over the weekend, European leaders from countries including Germany, Poland, Finland and the European Commission met to discuss the war in Ukraine.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this Monday, 16, that reports from the country’s intelligence indicate that Russia is preparing new massive attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure, which requires preparation of the Ukrainian air defense.
“These are combined attacks that require special protection and corresponding support from our partners. Any delay in the supply of air defense missiles, any late delivery contributes to increasing the damage of the attacks,” Zelensky said recently in his X account.
At the Munich Security Conference, held over the weekend, European leaders from countries including Germany, Poland, Finland and the European Commission met to discuss the war in Ukraine. The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, was scheduled for the meeting, but did not attend.
“Everything we discussed in Munich with our allies must be implemented quickly. It is important that allies do not remain silent,” urged the Ukrainian leader, highlighting that the US needs to get involved.
“We agree with all realistic US proposals, starting with the proposal for an unconditional and long-term ceasefire. Russia rejects this and continues attacks on the front, and attacks our cities and energy infrastructure. We expect partners to act”, criticized the president. “We expect strong decisions from Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and other partners.”
In the coming days, on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the conflict, the United States is expected to mediate negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, in Geneva, to discuss the end of hostilities.
