A simple notice posted on the portal of a building ended up generating controversy on social media and dividing opinions among neighbors and internet users. At issue are the constant barking of a dog and the sarcastic response of its owner.
It all happened in a community of neighbors where a resident decided to publicly express his discontent. The notice, placed clearly at the entrance to the building, prominently read “important notice”. In the text, the neighbor asked the owner of “the dog that barks and cries on the third floor” to take “urgent measures to resolve the situation”, according to Spanish digital newspaper HuffPost.
Complaint about constant noise
According to the author of the notice, the noise would be continuous and would seriously affect coexistence and rest in the building. The text also stated that, if the problem persisted, the possibility of filing a complaint with the administration would be evaluated.
The appeal ended with the phrase “We hope for a prompt solution”, demonstrating tiredness in the face of the situation.
Dog owner’s ironic response
The response didn’t take long. The animal’s owner wrote directly on the poster, in marker and in large letters: “We have already euthanized him. Thank you!”
The message quickly caught the attention of those who live in the building. The image of the poster ended up being shared on the social network X by a user identified as @vsjackk, supposedly a neighbor, accumulating hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of interactions, according to the same source.
Community divided
The post sparked a heated debate, according to . On the one hand, there were comments arguing that no one is forced to put up with constant dog barking, especially after a day of work. Some users argued that living in an apartment means respecting rules of coexistence and avoiding excessive noise.
On the other side, there were those who defended the dog’s owner, remembering that living in a building presupposes tolerance to everyday noise, including from pets. The situation ended up transforming a local conflict into a broader debate about noise limits, pet owners’ responsibility and coexistence in shared spaces.
