Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared, on Tuesday evening, regarding the conditions set by the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, for the granting of political support, that it is an “unfair game”, noting that there was no discussion in the coalition regarding the package of solidarity measures proposed by the Social Democrats and that no proposal that does not have a financing solution will not be accepted.
“During this period, I did not make statements. I avoided responding to the series of gratuitous accusations that were brought, because I have a responsibility for our country while I am in this position of prime minister, and this is the most important thing. And, as I told you, an atmosphere that generates predictability is necessary, because no matter who is prime minister and no matter what coalition it is, if we do not have this respected, we cannot go in a good direction,” said Ilie Bolojan, on TVR 1, asked about the fact that the leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, claimed that, if the state budget law does not pass the Parliament with the application of the package of solidarity measures, he will withdraw his political support to the prime minister.
PSD does not give up the war with Bolojan. Sorin Grindeanu does not exclude the withdrawal of support for the prime minister: “But what do you think has changed? PSD does not give up the package for pensioners”

The Head of the Executive specified that any proposal must be financially covered. ‘In terms of conditioning or other things like that, there is a foul play here because there are two situations. Given that a party, a ministry wants to make certain proposals to generate some policies in one direction or another, when you are in a coalition, as the protocol says, these things should be discussed in advance and what is agreed between the partners, what is bearable, I emphasize, because any proposal, no matter how good it sounds, at some point must be financially covered. Or, if we don’t have this money, things are not right, and then, if these things were done, they would be fine, but consider that these proposals, most of the time, are made from outside, they have no financing solution and any proposal that does not have a financing solution, if it cannot be covered in a cerebral way in the budget, will not be accepted’, the prime minister pointed out.
He emphasized that “it’s not a problem of Bolojan remaining prime minister or leaving, it’s simply a matter of responsibility to make a serious budget”
“And any proposal that comes, as long as it is doubled by the funding source, by measures to cover an additional expense that is being made, seems to me absolutely normal to be discussed. But this game in which some make some proposals without coverage and others are bad because they reject them – you realize that it does not bring any kind of profit and, exactly as you said, this type of show does no good to anyone”, added Ilie Bolojan.
Bolojan welcomes the CCR’s decision regarding the reform of special pensions: “From this moment we will take steps to recover the money from the PNRR milestone”
The prime minister stated that there were no discussions in the coalition on the subject of the solidarity package. “In the coalition there were no such discussions on this topic and I told you – it is not a problem that a party comes with a project, with a proposal, we will discuss them in the next period, but what we must be aware of is that we must make a budget that is based on real data, a budget that gives predictability to Romania,” Bolojan said.
Asked about the fact that the PSD threatened to withdraw from the government if the solidarity measures are not found in the budget, Bolojan said: ‘It is the decision of each party. My responsibility and that of the coalition is to make a responsible budget, and I assure you that I will do everything in my power to make this happen.’
“There’s no problem discussing any kind of proposal that has a funding source behind it or seeing what savings we can make in certain areas. I agree to discuss the investment components, how we can support them, but we also need to see from what resources we do that. We have to come to a conclusion in such a way that we have a budget in the shortest possible time, because it is an absolutely normal thing. (…) During next week, towards the end, we should be able to send the budget to Parliament. It also depends on how long the discussions in the Parliament last. That will depend on the organization of the Parliament’, added Ilie Bolojan.
Ilie Bolojan, revelations about the meeting in Cotroceni: “It’s not about a peace agreement”. What do they reproach Sorin Grindeanu with?

On Monday, the president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said that the support of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan depends on how the budget will look this year.
It depends a lot on what I said earlier, on the budget. PSD and I personally know that we are not part of this sect, on the contrary. These messianic accents do not impress me. I don’t play in this book either, so to speak, the genesis according to Bolojan. We are interested in some simple things now – the economic recovery, the investment money, the solidarity package. If these things go through, then we will have a budget and then we will still have a prime minister. If we start again with discussions and all kinds of news based on sources, then we will not have a budget and we will withdraw the Prime Minister’s trust. I think I was clear’, he said on Romania TV, when asked if Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will be ‘caught at the Victoria Palace in the summer’ or if he will be replaced.
