A Luís Montenegro’s house is being carried out by the Public Ministry. It has six floors, more than 800 square meters – and presents doubts regarding its payment.
The contractor earned R$215,000; the prime minister’s office responded that it spent three times as much, almost 640 thousand euros between 2016 and 2021, including the demolition of the ruin.
It reinforces that there is suspected tax fraud: o The Public Ministry wants to know where the R$637,239.59 to pay for the house came from.
Montenegro did not clarify the newspaper on the subject, but a source close to Luís Montenegro assures that everything is documented, that there is proof of everything.
The same source indicates that the house was paid for with income from your work and savings; through checks and bank transfer. Everything can be reconstituted, breaking bank secrecy.
Furthermore, when Montenegro presented the value of almost 640 thousand euros, it presented all the details, the invoices (demolition, construction and finishing), and everything is on the Tax Authority’s E-Fatura platform.
The differences in relation to what the construction company invoiced, sources close to the Prime Minister continue, have explanations: there was three contractors in demolitionwho were hired directly; and the total value includes demolition, construction and finishingwhich involves even more contractors.
Example: the service carpentry, paid directly by Montenegro, it cost around 100 thousand euros.
That is, there was more people involved, more services involvedthan just the first contractor, Rui Mota Oliveira (who is a childhood friend of Luís Montenegro), who was late in the work and made Montenegro switch to alternatives.
