Fernando and Adelaide, Ricardo’s parents, exclusively recall to SIC the night of January 28th, when storm Kristin caused destruction in Leiria and took their son’s life. During the storm, the trio were inside a warehouse when the wind destroyed the structure.
Adelaide told SIC the moment she was thrown by the rubble and found Fernando and Ricardo. Despite managing to wake her husband, she was unable to save her son. Fernando, with broken ribs, still tried to ask for help at the fire station, but it was too late.
Ricardo left a son and is one of the 16 fatal victims of the storms that affected Portugal.
