Poles are giving up kettles. Now water is boiled like this
. Back in the Polish People’s Republic, kettles with gas stoves dominated, now most people have electric kettles. The world does not stand still and new amenities appear that revolutionize our everyday lives. According to the website deccora.pl, Poles are increasingly abandoning batteries in favor of boiling water functions. This is a real innovation that saves time, energy and reduces cleaning.
What is a faucet with a heating function?
A faucet with a heating function is nothing more than a sink faucet installed in place of traditional fittings. A special thermal tank with a capacity of 3 to 7 liters is placed under the sink, as well as a heater and temperature sensors, and the whole thing is sealed with vacuum insulation, which limits excessive energy consumption. The operation of such a faucet is simple – the water goes to the tank, where it undergoes a filtration process and is then heated to 100 °C. The temperature is constantly maintained, so you have access to hot water at all times. A stream of hot water appears in the tap immediately and there is no need to wait for the water to heat up. Are you dreaming of delicious coffee or your favorite tea? You pour water straight from the tap over them. Some more advanced faucet models allow separate access to boiling, filtered, cold and even carbonated water.
Will a faucet with a heating function replace the classic electric kettle?
This solution, although very innovative, is gaining more and more supporters. Research conducted by the Dutch Burn Foundation has shown that use reduces the risk of burns. Many of these types of faucets have child-proof mechanisms.
Using ready-made boiling water helps save time and gives you unlimited access. If we need a large amount of boiling water, we do not have to boil it in batches. Additionally, the risk of cleaning is reduced. All elements are usually made of stainless steel, which means that scale and stains accumulate on them more slowly. This eliminates the need to scrub dried limescale, which often accumulates on traditional electric kettles.
In the case of batteries with a heating function, it is also worth considering energy consumption. A traditional electric kettle consumes on average about 250 kWh per year. In 2025, such electricity consumption cost on average PLN 160. A battery with a heating function consumes slightly more electricity. However, these are not very high values. On average, it consumes 350 kWh, which is approximately PLN 300. This is about the same value as a regularly used oven.
